Sewage Spill in Brighton?

Bathroom Disaster in Brighton
My toilet overflowed in the wee hours of the morning. (No pun intended!) The entire bathroom floor and my closet and hallway carpeting were also contaminated. My neighbor told me to call SERVPRO® of North Thornton/Brighton, and I’m glad I did. Even though it was early morning, the SERVPRO team arrived quickly and immediately began the cleanup and restoration process.
They inspected the toilet and overflow area and immediately cleaned up the mess and extracted the sewer water. They cleaned, decontaminated, and deodorized the bathroom, my closet, and hallway. They documented the drying process to ensure that the area was returned to normal moisture levels. Fortunately, they were able to clear the sewage backup problem and clean and sanitize my carpets, so there is no odor and no worries about the area not being sanitary.
Category 3: "Black Water"
Category 3 “Black Water” is highly unsanitary and can cause severe illness or death if ingested. All contact should be avoided. Sources for black water include flooding from rivers or streams, water from beyond the toilet trap, water from the toilet bowl with feces, or standing water that has begun to support microbial growth.
- May contain untreated sewage, harsh chemicals, and microbes
- Water from flooding rivers or sewer backup
